About Us

With backgrounds in commercial architecture and residential design, Cole and Jennifer Bruno have built their careers helping clients bring their vision to life. When the opportunity to purchase Five Design came along, they decided to move across the country from Arizona to South Carolina to begin a new chapter designing custom homes along the Grand Strand.

Cole graduated from Arizona State University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a minor in Landscape Architecture. Before relocating to South Carolina, he spent more than 20 years building a successful career in Arizona, serving as a partner for the past 8 years of a commercial architecture firm of twenty employees. His experience leading projects, managing teams, collaborating with developers, general contractors and other industry professionals, and solving complex design challenges allows him to bring a thoughtful, practical approach to every home he helps create.

Jennifer graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in Merchandising of Textiles, Apparel and Interior Design. Born and raised in Kansas City, she moved to Arizona after college to begin her career in residential design. She spent more than a decade working for multiple national homebuilders, helping thousands of buyers create spaces that reflected their lifestyles, needs, and personal style. Her years working directly within the homebuilding industry gives her a strong understanding of how design decisions, builder processes, and the client experience come together. Jennifer is passionate about making the design process enjoyable, collaborative, and tailored to each client.

Cole and Jennifer met in Arizona and were married in 2013. Since then, they have built not only a life together but also a shared passion for thoughtful design, combining their unique backgrounds in architecture, residential design, and project management to guide clients from the first idea to the finishing touches.

That combined experience also allows Five Design to be a strong partner to builders. Cole and Jennifer understand that great residential design has to work both on paper and in the field. They value clear communication, practical solutions, and a collaborative relationship with builders as well as custom home owners to help create homes that are thoughtfully designed and ready to be built.

Every home tells a story. Cole and Jennifer believe the best designs begin by listening to their clients and working closely with the people who will bring those designs to life, creating custom homes that reflect their lifestyle, personality, and the way they want to live.
